The Stop Community Food Centre Yes In My Back Yard (YIMBY) Connects people who have land to offer with people who would like to garden. Started in the neighbourhood surrounding the Wychwood Green Barn, near St Clair Ave West and Christie St - Bloor St up to Vaughan Rd, Bathurst over to Oakwood/Dovercourt. YIMBY participants will have access to a tool library, seedlings in the spring, educational workshops, and opportunities to get to know and learn from other gardeners in the neighbourhood. Hosswood Farm Organics Usually under a small white canopy, you would have found Kate Ross & her son Misha of Hosswood Farm Organics, the only vegetarian owned & managed organic farm that spod produce (herbs, vegetables, berries, & flowers) in Toronto's farmers markets. They neither kill animals nor sell animal products. They also had a small animal sanctuary with 4 rescued farm animals: cow, pig & battery hens. Hosswood Farm was a small, OCPP certified organic farm in the Caledon Hills owned & operated by Kate Ross. All herbs, vegetables, berries, & flowers were grown naturally in healthy soils without any chemicals. Sample produce list was: Mixed baby greens/cut/washed, Baby lettuce/cut/washed, Baby spinach/cut/washed, Bunched Greens (spinach, chard, mustard, arugula), Herbs, Carrots and Beets (Baby or large, bunches), Fennel (large, baby bunches), Zucchini & Pattypan Squash, Fresh garlic, Onions, Leeks, Eggplant, Cucumber (English), Tomatoes (baby, heirloom, large, red, yellow & stuffing), Beans (filet, purple & yellow), Peas (snow, green, snow & purple), Radishes, Scallions, Baby Red Peppers.
